Toronto Blue Jays right-hander Ricky Tiedemann made his MLB debut Saturday, allowing one earned run on two hits in 1 2/3 innings versus the New York Yankees.
The Blue Jays recalled Tiedemann ahead of Saturday's contest and optioned reliever Chase Lee after he surrendered four earned runs in one inning of work in Thursday's 7-0 loss to the Boston Red Sox.
Tiedemann was once viewed as one of baseball's top young arms and ranked as the Blue Jays' top prospect before undergoing Tommy John surgery in July 2024 and missing the entire 2025 season.
Drafted in the third round by Toronto in 2021, Tiedemann is currently ranked as the organization's 11th-best prospect and fifth-highest-rated pitcher in the farm system.
The Blue Jays placed six-time All-Star Vladimir Guerrero Jr. on the injured list Saturday following a concussion sustained in Friday's win.
