The Baltimore Orioles placed outfielder Luis Robert Jr. on the 10-day injured list due to hamstring discomfort in his left leg, the team announced Sunday.
Robert, whom Baltimore claimed off waivers Monday, only played three games before hitting the IL. He had approximately $5 million in salary remaining on his contract for 2026 when the team acquired him. His deal also includes a $20-million option for 2027 and $2-million buyout.
The 29-year-old began the season with the New York Mets, batting .223 with 10 home runs and a .702 OPS in 58 appearances.
Robert has consistently battled injuries throughout his career. The one-time All-Star has played 110 games or fewer in six of his seven MLB seasons.
In his three outings with the Orioles, Robert recorded two hits, including one home run, in 11 at-bats.
