Aaron Judge may be ready for the New York Yankees' wild-card series, after all.
One day after manager Aaron Boone said that the team is planning as if its star slugger won't be ready for the start of the postseason due to a calf injury, Judge himself said he intends to be available for Game 1.
"That's what the plan is," Judge told ESPN's Jorge Castillo on Wednesday. "Try to get my body ready so I'm ready to go."
Judge missed over three months this season with a rib injury. He returned to play seven games in September before landing on the IL again Friday with a right calf strain. He received an injection for the ailment Monday.
The three-time AL MVP slashed .241/.360/.511 with 18 home runs and 41 RBIs in 285 plate appearances this season.
The Yankees will open their postseason Tuesday, likely against the Boston Red Sox.
