Lowry shines as Raptors keep Lakers, Bucks from clinching No. 1 seeds

The Toronto Raptors played spoiler on Saturday night as they defeated the Los Angeles Lakers 107-92 to keep LeBron James' team and the Milwaukee Bucks from clinching the No. 1 seed in their respective conferences.

Kyle Lowry led the way for the defending champs with 33 points, a career-high 14 boards, and six assists in the victory.

Toronto prevailed in the previous matchup between the two clubs and now extends its overall win streak versus the Lakers to 11 games.

The Raptors kept James and Anthony Davis in check throughout the contest, holding the Lakers' star tandem to a combined 9-of-22 from the field. Los Angeles managed just 92 points total on season-low 35.4% shooting.

"Great team. No ifs, ands, or buts ... well coached ... Championship DNA," James said of the Raptors, according to ESPN's Ohm Youngmisuk. "The media may not give them as much credit because Kawhi (Leonard) is gone, but players know what type of team they are."

Toronto wing OG Anunoby had a big hand in his club's stingy defensive performance but also produced at the other end with 23 points.

"He's gonna be really good in this league for a really long time," Lowry said of Anunoby postgame, according to The Athletic's Eric Koreen.

James put up 20 points, 10 boards, and five assists in a losing effort, with Davis adding 14 points, six boards, and three blocks.
