The Detroit Pistons offered a five-year, $200-million contract to restricted free agent Jalen Duren, reports ESPN's Shams Charania.
That deal is worth $10 million more than Detroit's last offer in August and has no team or player options, sources told The Athletic's Sam Amick and Hunter Patterson.
Although Duren is said to be seeking at least $200 million, he reportedly turned down the Pistons' latest offer.
The 6-foot-10 center is eligible to receive a five-year, $287-million deal. Detroit reportedly inked Ausar Thompson to a five-year, $155-million rookie-scale extension last Friday.
If there's no movement in contract talks, Duren may not attend the Pistons' media day Sept. 28, sources told Amick and Patterson.
Duren has until Oct. 1 to sign a one-year, $9.6-million qualifying offer with Detroit. If he accepts that deal, he'd become an unrestricted free agent next summer.
Duren is coming off a breakout season. The 22-year-old averaged 19.5 points, 10.5 boards, and two assists across 70 appearances. He earned his first All-Star nod and was named to the All-NBA third team.
However, Duren was a shell of himself during the playoffs, managing just 10.2 points and 8.5 boards per game.
