The Philadelphia Eagles placed tight end Dallas Goedert on injured reserve due to a knee injury, the team announced Saturday.

Goedert will miss at least Philly's next four contests but is expected to return for the playoffs, according to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport and Mike Garafolo. The 10-2 Eagles have five games left on their regular-season schedule, including Sunday's matchup against the Carolina Panthers. The team can officially clinch its playoff berth this weekend and remains in contention for the NFC's No. 1 seed, which currently belongs to the 12-1 Detroit Lions.

Goedert ranks third on the Eagles with 38 receptions and 441 yards, behind only wide receivers A.J. Brown and DeVonta Smith. The seventh-year TE has also caught two touchdowns.

Injuries have been an issue for Goedert, who missed three games earlier this year with a hamstring issue. The 29-year-old hasn't played a full season since his rookie campaign in 2018. He's caught 345 passes for 4,030 yards and 24 TDs in 92 appearances since Philadelphia drafted him in the second round in 2018.

With Goedert sidelined, Grant Calcaterra will headline the Eagles' tight end depth chart.
