The Detroit Red Wings are signing free-agent forward Viktor Arvidsson to a two-year contract with an average annual value of $5 million, reports The Athletic's Pierre LeBrun.
Arvidsson spent last season with the Boston Bruins, notching 25 goals and 54 points in 69 games.
The 33-year-old is a six-time 20-goal scorer and has scored 30 or more twice in his 12-year NHL career.
The Red Wings still have over $23 million in cap space after reportedly adding Arvidsson, per PuckPedia. It's a pivotal summer for Detroit after the team crumbled down the stretch to miss the playoffs for the 10th consecutive year.
The club has a big decision to make about captain Dylan Larkin, who reportedly requested a trade earlier in the offseason.
