The Toronto Maple Leafs traded defenseman Brandon Carlo to the St. Louis Blues for two third-round picks, the teams announced Saturday.

Carlo is under contract for the 2026-27 season at a cap hit of $4.1 million. Toronto acquired him from the Boston Bruins prior to the 2025 trade deadline in a deal that notably sent Fraser Minten and a 2026 first-round pick the other way.
The first-rounder was top-five protected, allowing the Maple Leafs to select Gavin McKenna first overall on Friday and deferring the traded pick to 2027.
Carlo suited up in 75 games for the Maple Leafs, notching 10 assists while averaging over 19 minutes per contest.
Toronto and St. Louis have been active in the early stages of the offseason. The Maple Leafs recently acquired Darren Raddysh from the Tampa Bay Lightning and moved Joseph Woll to the Philadelphia Flyers. The Blues dealt Jordan Kyrou to the Washington Capitals before landing Mason McTavish from the Anaheim Ducks.
Both the Maple Leafs and Blues missed the playoffs this past season.
