The Vegas Golden Knights traded winger Pavel Dorofeyev to the New York Rangers for the No. 26 pick and a third-round selection in the 2026 draft, as well as a top-10 protected first-rounder in 2028, the teams announced Friday.
New York is immediately signing Dorofeyev to a seven-year extension with an average annual salary of $11 million, TSN's Pierre LeBrun reports.
Dorofeyev notched 37 goals and 27 assists in 82 regular-season games last season before adding 16 points in 22 playoff contests during the Golden Knights' run to the Stanley Cup Final.
The 25-year-old led Vegas in goals in each of the last two seasons, and his 20 power-play goals during the 2025-26 campaign ranked second in the league.
Slated to become a restricted free agent on July 1, Dorofeyev carried a $1.835-million cap hit last season.
Vegas drafted Dorofeyev in the third round in 2019. He's recorded 92 goals and 57 assists in 231 career contests.
