The Washington Commanders are signing free-agent cornerback Rasul Douglas to a one-year deal worth up to $3.8 million, sources told ESPN's Adam Schefter.
Douglas played in 15 games (13 starts) with the Miami Dolphins last year after inking a one-year contract in August. He had two interceptions and allowed 45 catches on 76 targets in 465 coverage snaps, according to Next Gen Stats. His 78.6 passer rating allowed was the best mark on the Dolphins.
The 30-year-old was selected in the third round of the 2017 draft by the Philadelphia Eagles. He's played in 135 career games across his stops with Philly, the Carolina Panthers, Green Bay Packers, Buffalo Bills, and Dolphins.
Washington's defense ranked 29th in passing touchdowns allowed and 31st in EPA/dropback last season. The club signed cornerback Amik Robertson and safety Nick Cross in free agency, and they're both projected to be Week 1 starters.
Douglas has recorded 503 tackles and 21 interceptions in his nine-year NFL run.
